Fish count numbers are finally in from the Idaho Fish and Game on theSouth Fork of the Snake river and things are looking good. The main focus of the fish count was to measure the success of Idaho’s management of rainbows to decrease the opportunity of rainbows spawning with the native Yellowstone cutthroat. And the numbers are showing this management is working. Cuttie numbers are up and the rainbows are on the decline.
And the overall fish numbers are strong. Brown trout, although predatory, dont spawn in the same areas as the cutties further enhancing the fish to coexist. Check out more here – –
